Sunday June 15th

Good morning folks. Well yes I don’t normally blog on Sundays. However, I failed to blog yesterday, and therefore this will be the last blog before I go to Clatterbridge tomorrow. I am afraid the damn gathering got out of hand again on Friday night, hence the lack of a blog yesterday. Ian McKinley, the former custodian of Castle Rushen, turned up from the world of Smeale where he now lives. Andrew Qualtrough also put in an appearance prior to his lizard hunting jaunt to the South of France. Sarah, who bought Island Office Minder from me and is making a much better fist of it than I did, also turned up along with a Viking journalist from Norway. Thank heavens she came, as she carted everyone away at around 1.30 a.m., despite the fact that Barbara had long since gone to bed. Of course Chris Callow my boatman and Michael Quine were there, and not forgetting Ray and Pauline Cregeen. Rumour has reached me that after leaving me, the gathering reconvened at another dwelling and continued until 4 a.m.

Judging by the list of contacts I now have over on the Wirral, it would seem we are in for a mighty gathering over there. Well people, I shall be on tomorrow’s 7.30 seacat to Liverpool. That is provided the Liverpool linkspan is working and nobody sneezes on the Victoria Pier causing the wave height to be too high for the seacat. While I am gone I think Barbara, who at this minute is cooking breakfast, will be blogging on my behalf. I doubt she will manage it every day, but at least she will keep you all updated and might even offer some bloggings of her own. I hope that when I return I will be fully fit again, and the blogs will take a new turn, as I will be blogging as a former cancer sufferer. Not that I have suffered that much, and with my luck, cancer will probably be replaced with chickenpox or something like that.

Anyway folks, for now I will say farewell to you all and I will be back on the blog scene the second week in July, all being well. I will try and fire off the odd blog when I come home at weekends. I won’t have a computer with me over on the Wirral, at least not one that talks and has a Braille display so blogging from the Wirral is not an option for me. Thank you to Nathan who has emailed me from Chester, and I hope to meet up with you mate while I am there.

For now then folks, this Tom Glassey with News at 8.55 a.m, on the banks of the Silverburn River.
