Good morning people. Blimey what a wild day it is. A little while ago I returned from a walk on the beach with Barbara and Skipper. Well, I didn’t walk actually because when I got there, I discovered I still had my slippers on. Maybe all this radiation to my brain is getting to me.

Tomorrow we leave for Clatterbridge again, this time with Barbara and Skipper. We will all stay in the caravan at Meols on the Wirral. Meols is a small sleepy sort of town, right on the northern end of the Wirral peninsula. To the south is the river Dee, and to the north is the river Mersey. The camp site is quiet with most of the residents being permanent. The towns of Hoylake and West Kirby are just a couple of miles away and Clatterbridge Hospital is just 7.2 miles away.

I spent most of last week cruising on the Mersey ferry, or riding round the streets. I also cruised the dock system of Liverpool on the Yellow duck marine, or Lamb Banana marine as they like to call it now. This is a sort of amphibious bus that was built to assist with the D day landings and now three of them and soon to be four, carry tourists every half hour through the streets and docks of Liverpool with full live commentary.

Over the last week I have listened to many commentaries regarding Liverpool, both on the ferry cruises and the yellow duck. I can tell you now that I have learned that just about everything in Liverpool are, the biggest, the oldest, the newest, the only one of its kind, the longest, and so on. Well, I don’t know who is behind the marketing of tourism in Liverpool, but it is certainly working. The place is thriving, and it’s not only heaving with tourists. Buildings are going up left right and centre. Huge investment is taking place. Liverpool, once again is buzzing, and one gets the feeling that that 60’s feel good factor is returning again.

Next week I intend to spend more on the Wirral side and Chester. Of course I will let you know how I get on down there. Andy, my radiologist is from Sidney and he had never heard of the Isle of Man. I am taking him some odds and sods back with me so I am off to try and get hold of a bottle of Manx Spirit now. I am hoping that the wind will die down so that we can get away tomorrow on time. Well of course we will probably get away on time, but Heaven knows what time we will arrive. I will of course be blogging away next Saturday, Steam Packet and weather willing. In the meantime, take good care people. Keep your spirits up, and enjoy life.

Until next week then, this is Tom Glassey with News at 11.30., on the very windy and wild banks of the Silverburn river.
