Wake Up Call
Incredible result and potentially, we have cyclists who could win medals at the olympics either next year or 2012. (Mark Cavendish and Johnny Bellis) Peter Kennaugh will be in the frame for London as well. These guys will really put the Island on the map.....just wait and see. Look forward to following their progress. Lets hope the Manx nation plays its part in getting fully behind them and celebrating their successes.... http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/..._Worlds_RR1.asp
Amadeus
Unless the sport is sorting out a few organisational and other 'problems', no-one is going to be interested in cycling anymore (which would be a shame for the good and honest peeps taking part) Cycling's year of farce comes full circle Bettini victory leaves drugs charter in jeopardy

So why don't we get behind them more? It feels a bit like a variant of the 'manx crab' attitude. Manx sports personalities can't REALLY be any good - and if they are then there MUST be something wrong with the sport so no-one is going to be interested... C'mon lets get behind Cav et al! How about putting more resources into promoting anti-doping manx cyclists, using the emerging stars as ambassadors and promoting cycling in schools? Mr. Sausages
Eleven wins in a debut season is the record, I think. Impressive stuff.
Ushtey
Interestingly there was a european plate T-mobile audi driving around Douglas on Monday, I wonder if there's be another Manx rider wearing pro colours soon.

"Mark Cavendish of Team High Road made what looked like a winning move when he jumped to a several-bike-length lead with about 400 meters to go. But Cavendish had no help over the final meters, and Boonen, getting an assist from his Quick Step teammates, was able to overtake the British rider and claim the stage win...." http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...amp;type=sports C'mon you manx cyclists!!
