Loki Posted July 6, 2005 Share Posted July 6, 2005 I understand the logic of your comments but I feel that something is either fresh or it isn't. 100% is the max it can be, anything else is misleading or the previous labels of 100% fresh are not accurate. If it isn't 100% fresh then it not fresh. I think it is poor marketing but I suppose it also depends on people's opinion of what fresh means to them. Fresh on the shelves, freshly Picked/Produced or freshly on the shelves after being defrosted? Super Market products can leave a lot open to interpretation and get away with it. It all contributes to a devaluation of the language. It also applies when sportsmen and women are described as 'incredibly brave' or the result of game is called 'tragic.' - then it leaves everyone struggling for meaningful words when something genuinely 'tragic' or 'heroic' occurs. We have all been to those meetings where someone wants over 100%. How about achieving 103%? Here's a little math that might prove helpful. What makes life 100%? Well, they certainly must have spent a lot of time and effort on my shopping. Yes, it must have taken them ages to search the shop picking only the worst produce off the shelves (or the floor). The tins were dented and the fruit was bruised, some were what I'd call inedible. I wouldn't recommed it but desperate times and all that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ive never had any major problems with Tescos delivery, so I would throughly recommend it. Sometimes they forget stuff (not often), but on the few times it has happened to me theyve sent a guy up with the missing items within an hour or two. I dont drive, and I live in Farm Hill, so I'm looking at about 7 quid-odd for a taxi home with my shopping. Plus the hassle of having to walk round the place actually doing the shopping.
