manxman8180
Not being funny, but wouldn't you be better off asking that on the MR website? Just a thought.
MANXJOCK
Thank-you for your constructive comments regarding todays interview with the Guardian Newspaper correspondent. The purpose of which was to ascertain his views of the island as he saw it given his comments in the recent articles printed. It was never my intention to challenge him over the issues he raised but to stimulate debate from you as to whether you agreed or disagreed. The "harder hitting " questions should be dealt with by our news team which are more than capable of following up the story. If anyone would like to purchase some "mobile dj" equipment, please do not hesitate to call me in the office after 12 midday as you are more than welcome to bid . If you are a "mobile dj" who would like to further your career you may also call the station as we are always looking for talented people who have a thick skin and do not mind the odd offensive comment. ade
Probably, it is just that we are on the subject and as far as I am aware, at least two of MR presenters read and contribute here. As far as I am aware, Talking Heads hosted the Guardian journalist interview. Edited to add that I was responding to Manxman8180's comments, MANXJOCK posted a reply while I was writing this... However, I feel we are pushing all the questions in their direction, when I would suspect that it may be more beneficial to direct specific scheduling / programming queries to the station itself, as opposed to two of the 'decent' staff who are commenting and replying mainly in their own time. As they have also said previously that what they contribute here are their own opinions and not those of their employer, IMO a question starting Could someone from Manx Radio please clarify..... should be addressed to the station itself. Chris Williams <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I actually missed it when it went 'live' and only heard the re-run on the news. So are you saying that there was an opportunity for people to ring in and tackle him then? If not, in what format should any potential response(s) have taken? (Just for future reference.) I wouldn't have particularly taken issue with his views on the use of law locally but I did take exception to his "draconian" (to coin his phrase) views on the Isle of Man as a financial jurisdiction with regard to money laundering etc. I appreciate that you are on the metaphorical ropes in here at the moment but my comments are meant well and are not for the express and single purpose of taking advantage of an opportunity to have a go at you. The Old Git
The purpose of which was to ascertain his views of the island as he saw it given his comments in the recent articles printed. Gee, you couldn't guess what what his views would be then? I'd have thought they were fairly predictable and there was no need to give him another platform from which to batter us
crumlin
He did not batter the Manx people, he said that the Manx are nice people with a nice Island, it was just a pity about those that Govern them, he also said that he could not see Justice work here as the place was to small. MANXJOCK
In reply to OBSERVER'S comment."Talking Heads" is an opportunity for listeners to comment on the topics we discuss. You are welcome at any time to call, text, fax, or e-mail with your questions for the studio guests, or If you wish you can write in after the event and I will re-visit the topic. There is no censorshio of contributors on my part as long as the questions are relevant and don't drop the station in the legal "mire". Chris Williams. I don't think the "man in the street" in the UK or elsewhere really differentiates between the govt and the people when they think of the IOM as a "seedy tax haven" etc. We're all tarred with the same brush. Upstream
Could someone from Manx Radio please clarify why Talking Heads does not make it onto the Audio Vault on www.manxradio.com? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not being funny, but wouldn't you be better off asking that on the MR website? Just a thought. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To me the Audio Vault was probaly the best part of the web-site, and I had a few enquiring and constructive comments to make. Unfortunately the feedback email link provided on the website was not working for some time.

Stu Peters
The Audio Vault is still there - click on PROGRAMMES on the left side of the home page and you'll see it as a drop-down. I think it's really designed mainly for shorter and specialist programmes though, so it's unlikely that Talking Heads will be featured for the time being. Thanks for the note about the Feedback link not working... I'll add it to a snag list of other bits for our Man Who Can Code to look at, and no doubt it will be sorted in the fullness of time.
