Hilda Ogden
Was watching telly yesterday morning, 30th July, and Sam Barks was on "This Morning" along side Wayne Sleep they are both starring in the touring musical "Cabaret" Well done and good luck to Sam http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/Sam-Barks-l...d-in.4341222.jp
slinkydevil
Brilliant. We should get Adrian Earnshaw down the airport with Isle of Sam banners right away.

VinnieK
I'm getting in on the ground floor on this one. Why-oh-why-oh-why-oh-why don't we rename the Island "The Weimar Republic", in honour of Sam's MANN-gnificent achieveMANNt? This is my idea and it's brilliant and anyone who thinks otherwise is a big stupid Manx crabby arsebag who deserves to be smothered to death with a pillow embroided with the three legs of Samannin. Why-oh-why-oh-why-oh-why don't we rename the Island "The Weimar Republic", More like the when-I republic in tribute to the prolific Island name changer himself. keyboarder
It's not exactly West End but it's a pretty good job for the young lady to get - it's clearly the area she wants to work in so well done her. As long as she can put up with Mr Sleep's interminable mincing, I know I couldn't.
pongo
Also well done Wayne (for still having a career). Although I can never quite get that Hockney picture of him out of my head.
Albert Tatlock
Heading for Lime Street the other day, I noticed this show is on in Liverpool at the Empire in September.
Gladys
Saw the young lady herself today opening Boots' new 1st floor. There was Champange and Bucks Fizz, photographers and people generally milling about, so I asked someone who they were waiting for and 'twas her. Petite little thing, she is. Wish her all good luck. DjDan
I'm getting in on the ground floor on this one. Why-oh-why-oh-why-oh-why don't we rename the Island "The Weimar Republic", in honour of Sam's MANN-gnificent achieveMANNt? heh, on another note.. I do recall seeing a banner down in the sea terminal with a photo of Mark Cavendish and the wording "Welcome to my Island". I mean what's with that?? This is MY Island and I don't believe I have given anyone else permission to be identified with it! Seems they fell short of renaming it 'Isle of Mark' then... Sam's achievements must have been greater after all!!

hboy
They'll be saving Isle of Cav for Sports Personality of the Year voting time. These Google ads linked to threads are getting weirder - did anyone else get the bottom page ad for the "herpes message board" at www.STDmatch.net when they clicked on this thread? I've gone back through the thread and I'm buggered if I can fathom it out. What's the link.
