lfc84
Just been looking at www.steam-spacket.com to make some reservations and it would appear that the Liverpool-IOM sailings are being operated by the Seacat on Friday - Saturday - Sunday only.... I tried to check January and no Liverpool sailings are listed, so presumably that confirms the Lady of Mann wont be returning to the IOM and that they are going to decide what vessel (if any) will operate the Liverpool-IOM route nearer the turn of the year....... Tempus Fugit
and just to make it more awkward, they don't have the timetable visible on-line so that you can browse (or print out) , you have to go through all the pseudo booking procedure, and you can't just use the 'back' button to look for another day, you have to go back to the home page each time, you specify a route and they give sailings from somewhere else, what a wonderful bit of software I don't think
Lucky
I work on the seacat, the reason there is no timetable for january is that its going into dry dock for 6 weeks to get some work done on it for next summer. I've heard that the lady might be back but will remain in dock as the company who are buying it have seemingly paid the deposit for it and don't want it damaged before they get full ownership. the-rhymes
So are we going to have less services to the UK and Ireland? Is this a result of falling passenger numbers?
lfc84
So are we going to have less services to the UK and Ireland? Is this a result of falling passenger numbers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Considering the weather in the north irish sea i wonder how many cancellations there will be and how many 4 hour seacat crossings there will be.... im not expecting a reliable service..... the-rhymes
I had a couple of idea's when I just moved to the IOM (before I was socially adjusted to living on a small pea sized island). The first one would be to build a motorway in the form of a cross over the island, running north south, east west... The second is to build a huge bridge between the UK and the IOM and then from the IOM to Ireland. We could be a glorified service station in the middle... As time past my ridiculous ideas faded, only to return when I can't afford to get off the rock or get delayed. Please don't tell me that there is a boat in the morning, because it might be cancelled...
