The Old Git
Hmm - I've a prepay O2 card that I use with my GPS when I'm in the UK. Wonder if I'll be able to use that here with no roaming charges anytime soon?
the-rhymes
Wouldn't that mean an effective end to Manx Telecoms mobile monopoly?

the-rhymes
I have real mixed feelings about Manx Telecom. Plus points: Great people working for them (especially the team in web hosting). They are a large employer here on the IOM thus putting back money into the economy. The directory enquires service is excellent cause they actually know what your talking about, which never fails to amuse me. Negative: (Perceived) high prices. Service and support systems for web hgosting are not geared up like a larger ISP's. They are a monopoly.
lectro
The EU have been looking at it for years and are finally going to act on it... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4696494.stm O2 are just hoping to attract some extra customers by pre announcing it. I've got an O2 PAYG but once the roaming price comes down I'll go contract with them. They've got some really nice services built around their website that integrates nicely with the phones.
