  1. It's that time of year. From personal experience we have a six year-old in the family with sore throat and a cough. Tested negative for CV. Know a lady up the road with same symptoms (FWIW- long since double jabbed) also tested negative for CV.
  2. Well, they can just bugger off as we'll be camping over next weekend.
  3. August? The visit was in April last year.
  4. 100% the new relaxation rules were drafted by PHE and probably without much input from our DPH.
  5. Pre-planned Contingency Planning and preparations, apparently: http://www.iomtoday.co.im/article.cfm?id=55116&headline=Why two army helicopters flew here&sectionIs=news&searchyear=2020
  6. It's true they probably had no clue but the instructions and advice were coming from PHE backed up by Ministry of Justice. And as if to confirm that they sent two helicopters over with logistics experts to reinforce who was going to be running the show if it all went south.
  7. The reason for the question was to ask how many times his modelling had been correct!
  8. Ben - How long have you been doing these COVID forecasts/models?
  9. Quirkio is not MHK material. He's a good LA representative but that's about as far as it goes. Please don't give him any ideas. 🙏
  10. There's an interesting article in the DT this morning about big reductions in genome sequencing for arrivals from Amber and even Red listed countries: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/07/22/staggering-drop-sequencing-pcr-tests-track-covid-variants/ I'll be happy to pass on a pdf version for those interested in reading it and who don't have a DT account. Just DM me and I'll send it over.
  11. From what I've heard some of them wouldn't get in to bed for that.

I see what you did there....
  13. Me neither.... said the same to the missus earlier in the week.
  14. Not sure if I quoted it on this particular blog but somewhere on this Forum I suggested we wouldn't see much change out of +£100M for this 'project'. Nearly there.
  15. I 'm waiting for the prospective Keys candidates to knock on my door so that I can tell them a few home (pun intended) truths about housing and how successive administrations have managed to fuck up the market, almost beyond repair.
  16. Housing Trusts would go a long way to resolving some of those issues. More social housing is not necessarily the answer.
  17. I tend to look at the "Cases by specimen date" of the data set. It's a couple of days behind the "Cases by date reported" but I believe it presents a more accurate picture. You'll see the difference when you look at the graphs. https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/cases?_ga=2.242591809.2120377948.1626884701-1326513770.1626884701
  18. The antibody numbers across UK are looking good, taken in the round with all the other data (cases look as though they're on the way down): https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/healthandsocialcare/conditionsanddiseases/datasets/coronaviruscovid19antibodydatafortheuk
