  1. Does anyone have a link from any MHKs manifestos where they declared they would legislate to remove the Bishop's vote?
  2. Is he actually an employee of Manx Care (or DHSC) or is he a paid contractor? I suspect the latter and he'll be billing his time/services to whoever will be happy to pay him! It's possible he may be double dipping. Since the Magson/Ranson affair I do not trust any words that come out of IOMG or MC on employment matters.
  3. There's nothing wrong with Peel as it is, apart from a few buildings either needing whitewashing/painting and generally tarted up. It's neither the Cote d'Azur or Sydney Harbour. It doesn't need granite paving or kerb stones (although I suspect it's too late for that). It's an underused Manx fishing port. It's fine the way it is.
  4. I'm on the MXM now and about an hour or so out of Heysham. Blackpool Tower clearly visible. The 09:15 departure has been known for at least a week to me when I started looking at options. Tomorrow's (Friday) departure ex Douglas is fully booked for vehicles.
  5. Doubt it. She'll be bundled into a limo straight from the aircraft and vicki verka on the way out.
  6. Don't we have a government department or office that can tell us that?
  7. I would have thought the main market would be the island of Ireland not IOM, if anything. They'd have to have a couple of dredgers working 365 to keep any part of the port open.
  8. Sainsburys are not the shopping experience in years gone by. I used them regularly a few years back (whilst working on projects in UK) but the quality of their own brand stuff went south and I stopped going there. Oddly enough to be replaced by Morrisons (if there was one close by) and they were cheaper. As for pricing..... this from my previous post:
  9. Ironically up by Robinsons/Eden Park/Cooil Rd way.
  10. Is it? Well that paints a different picture. Having said that, I don't think it's the best place to service the rest of the Island.
  11. As far as I recall Wilson's doesn't have a docking facility to roll cages on/off and probably height restrictions for stacking. Plus I think they might struggle with mega trailers around there.
  12. Of course but if it doesn't work for them operationally then I'm sure they'll take the necessary steps and legal/financial arrangements to make sure it happens.
  13. Wouldn't be surprised if, after a period of time, they look to operate out of another warehouse and arrange deliveries to all the other non-Lake Road outlets from there.
  14. I thought we binned our man in Bruxelles?
  15. None of the 2% will be ring-fenced. Allinson surely knows that and consequently misled Tynwald. He's promising stuff that Treasury won't be able to deliver.
  16. What do you mean: "possible" negative perceptions? 🤣
  17. You mean Sooty & Sweep, don't you? 😆
  18. Yep.... that'll be next on the list.
  19. Doubt it. Anyone thinking of putting themselves up has probably realised that the main issue is the Politburo (as someone above has so eloquently described the CS). They are ungovernable. They make up the rules as they going along and to suit themselves. Anyone who dares to question the way things work are quickly 'turned' and become compliant mouthpieces. Stu is testament to that. And anway, I think the Head Teacher @ RGS is probably worth every penny.
  20. They've either been working off out-of-date surveys or they didn't bother to do a couple of runs along that area with geophys. Geophys is clever stuff these days.
  21. Yes but doesn't he work part-time and not even live on the Island? You can see where this is heading can't you?
  22. All that's happening is that patients who can't see get an appointment with their GP within say 48 hours have no choice but to visit A&E. So A&E is defacto a massive all-Island GP surgery.
  23. Aye, the medicine he's prescribed won't cure the problem.
