  1. I was thinking that IOMG has failed thus far to achieve joined up government (seems it's beyond them in the conventional sense) that they are pinning their hopes on AI to make it happen. None of this is going to happen anytime soon, if at all. What about the "one" government entity that was supposed to happen? You really couldn't make this shit up. These people are space cadets.
  2. FFS........ an award for "AI FOR GOVERNMENT: Create a solution that enables the sharing of data across the Isle of Man Government within a trust framework." 🙄
  3. The only thing AI is going to do is increase the numbers of desk jockeys working for IOMG. It's a bullshit machine.
  4. Ooooohhh... it must be good, there's lots of pretty colour slides.
  5. All of what is described is part and parcel of life on all ferries traversing the seas around the British Isles.

  7. Been racking my brain to recall who occupied those premises before Peter Luis. Any ideas, anyone?
  8. In the (real) commercial world IOMG would have to raise invoices to IOMSPCo for use of the facility. Now whether those charges will be enough to cover the capital costs of the build/construction (plus any interest) during say, the length of the lease, remains to be seen. And..... presumably on top of that will be Peel Ports charges to IOMG for maintenance such as dredging etc. There might even be separate charges for storage of fuel and water.
  9. It was one of Skelly's marketing ploys that would bring in untold millions in free advertising! Bit like the £15K fairy houses scattered around the Island.
  10. And you can bet your bottom wotsit that the seaweed was collected and went on the farmland/pastures as fertiliser.
  11. I said that last year. Still, not as bad as the catastrophe that is CALMAC and the Ferguson Nationalised shipyard @ £600 million and growing, eh?
  12. Good. So that's the end of this thread then? Let's move on shall we?
  13. The question I would like answered is: does he have the support of the rest of COMIN and the executive that he leads?
  14. An empty property that morphs into an interpretation Centre has all the marks of former MHK and CM.

  17. I was referring to Ben Varrey... according to DR Google!
  18. If not DOI then where/who else does the decision making reside with?
  19. Which vessels larger than silver river operate commercially out of ramsey? Genuine question.
  20. Anything bigger than the Silver River wouldn't work in Ramsey. And it can only be Ramsey as Mezeron would never get access to a linkspan, for obvious reasons.
  21. That's why I said they wouldn't consider Mezeron for transporting food and certainly not with the vessel they have now. Where has it been said that Mezeron will charter a new boat? Even if they do there's plenty of other non-standard cargo they could move with a bigger vessel. It wouldn't have to be much bigger that the Silver River otherwise they'd never manage to turn it in Ramsey harbour. There's no love lost between Mezeron and IOMSPco since the SP no longer have preferential rates with anyone, allegedly.
