  1. But don't you think it's odd how these projects suddenly get the green light and with much fanfare after taxpayers funds are thrown at them? The take up of any office space will be low as there's acres of office space already available, unless of course IOMG rent them which means we'll be paying twice for them!

  3. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/almost-1000-missed-doctors-appointments-in-july-and-august/ In addition to the missed appointments at GPs it would be useful to know how many more than usual were treated at MEDS and A&E during that period.
  4. Indeed. I was really surprised when Jamie didn't in.
  5. I voted for the other Smith in Garff. Miles ahead of the others.
  6. What a wonderfully worded closing down notice that is:
  7. Very possibly, Nellie. Is the ex Manx Airlines fella still working for Loganair?
  8. BBC News - Scottish airline Loganair no longer up for sale https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-67018371
  9. Well, wouldn't you if the subsidies stopped?
  10. I understand what you're saying but I find it hard to understand why it went on for so long, that's all. There must be something significantly amiss with DHSC processes for it to have got to this stage and for the AG's office to subsequently hit the enter key.
  11. I would like to think so too but it does make you wonder how often checks are made, ie. having a claimant attend DHSC office for face-to-face interview, ie not over the phone. For this latest case it's seems very odd that something like this was allowed to get as far as five years.
  12. Aren't certain benefits reviewed at some point? Surely they're not paid out indefinitely without review/checks in place?
  13. No conspiracy. It's political. IOMG have to be seen raking some of the investment back, Alf said as much when the purchase of IOMSPCo went through. Did the Company repay the £76 million that was pumped into the Company for cashflow purposes (repayable in 12 months), back in 2018?
  14. The comment was rather tongue in cheek!
  15. What Labour needs is another "call me Tony"!
  16. In principle yes but you just know that there will have been a phone call from Treasury.
  17. The answer to Moorhen's question on the Earystane plantation area is proper Cyril's gobbledygook. It contradicts itself from start to finish.
  18. The cover has come off the shredder, oiled and ready for action!
  19. That's why the company must be allowed to run the business, not all of the management are Cyril's.
  20. The reduced winter rotations?
  21. The management on behalf of the owners (us) should be allowed to run the business. I can see IOMSPCo being used as a political football.
  22. So, our future boat services now in public ownership (much lauded in some quarters) is going to be forever in the hands of unions?
  23. Nevertheless if IOMG say pay up they really have no choice, chairman resigning or not.
