  1. A very good proportion of the herring stock is literally hoovered up and landed on floating factory ships before it gets anywhere near the Irish Sea. The small 100's of boats that you refer to were not responsible for the massive reduction in stocks.
  2. Isn't there a charitable police benevolent fund?
  3. Correct... you can't beat eye-balling someone over a boardroom table and watch the body language as to whether they're telling you porkies or not.
  4. That has to be a nonsense approach by LGW. What happens then when they only sell 50% of the seats, are they going to prevent them from landing?
  5. I'm more inclined to believe that the AGs office needs specialist drafting assistance before committing. If that's the case then they should say so and be upfront with everyone, including the taxpayer!
  6. Not sure how bouyant or otherwise the airline leasing or sales market is but it seems to me that they need to get rid of the Embraer and buy two ATRs as replacements.
  7. I presume you meant me, since I questioned where this information came from! If so, you couldn't be more wrong in your assertions.
  8. I said a long time ago on here that the Registries should not be used to prop up the ever-profligate DfE (and it's predecessors). The Registries should be fall under a statutory board (for example the Registries Regulatory Authority) and the income from the services should go into the general taxation fund. DfE already think the income is theirs by right. It's not.
  9. That was my main reason for posting the link. And that begs the question, what measurement does IOMG use to establish the effectiveness, or otherwise, of these jollies??
  10. South African HNWI migration.... but not to the Isle of Man it seems: https://businesstech.co.za/news/wealth/697203/millionaire-south-africans-are-emigrating-with-their-wealth-to-these-countries/
  11. Of course it should be set out, I just wondered if the procedure (and by extension the equipment) was with the emergency services rather than with the airport apron services. The thing that struck me was the fact that not only does the airport itself not have the right ground handling asset/equipment to move the aircraft neither does Menzies.
  12. Excuse me..... but that's what IOMG does best. Have you not been reading the news?
  13. That will be resisted on the grounds that the RAIB will likely find lots and lots of other non-compliant issues and procedures.
  14. But NI only pays for pensions & benefits not towards health or any other departmental budget (unless you're advocating that NI gets rolled into income tax).
  15. I think that's doing the cock & balls a disservice. They're far more useful than our airport.
  16. So not even the fire services down there have any procedures for aircraft recovery?
  17. https://consult.gov.im/infrastructure/proposed-ramsey-boundary-extension-order-2023/
  18. Ask this fella, he should know the answers: https://www.gov.im/about-this-site/contact-us/?contactid=6932
  19. It's not services, it's positions. For example, is it really necessary to have 4 x CEOs in DfE for Digital, Finance, Business & Visit??? Why do they have to be designated as a CEO? Why not HEOs remunerated according to the appropriate published pay scales? And are these CEOs fixed term or permanent?? And there are more Directors of Policy in the Cabinet Office than you can shake a stick at.
  20. Case ID: 3191625 for the full answer.
  21. The people you mention are/were members of the House of Lords not guests but debated along with all the others in that House.
  22. No. You said the position was for those looking for an easy life prior to retirement. That is not the case.
  23. I think he's entitled to remuneration as a member of legco but I'm pretty sure it's not taken up. Although I recall seeing somewhere that it's paid over to local charities but I may be wrong or misremembering.
