  1. Of course not. Sounds like the CEO of the Cabinet Office is empire building...... again!
  2. I've heard similar.
  3. Lots and lots of buzz words. One question though..... why do we need to train entrepreneurs? ETA: And.... is it really necessary for each "Agency" to have a CEO?? If so, at what cost and are they on fixed terms contracts?? Are their remuneration packages linked to meeting targets??
  4. This and agreed. But of course you do realise that those sites are for "mates"? It really is scandalous.
  5. I do sometimes wonder quite how "Real Time" DHSC/MC systems are. Plus, it seems to take an eternity for letters to get posted out, especially from Nobles.
  6. No, that's hen's teeth.
  7. Reading the above puts me in mind of the TV series "Can Gerry Robinson Fix the NHS?"
  8. £100,000?? The position is not required. What are/is they/she going to develop? Zero. When you negotiate with airlines or indeed any commercial entity you will be dealing with hard-nosed business people. If you have spent most of your working life in a CS 6 hour/day office then the chances are you'll get shafted. But worry ye not, the GMT will be there to bail you out.
  9. What's wrong with normal scooters.
  10. Am I right in saying they've done away with valves these days?
  11. Given the shape of of them they're likely to be utility inspection covers and metal on metal is not a good idea.
  12. Bloody Yanks.... might have known. I thought it was a spelling mistake!
  13. Fairy Cottage? They haven't sold bio diesel for years.
  14. So COMIN didn't get a say it in? Pull the other one!
  15. So where is this bio-diesel then?
  16. Is it not obvious? As a rule I generally find that women are a better judge of character of men than men themselves.
  17. Decades Rox. It's ingrained. There are some in the CS that really do believe they are beyond reproach.
  18. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/mark-christian-appointed-permanent-chief-fire-officer/
  19. Indeed. There are always two sides to a story.

    Planning

I'm not referring to deposits for small housing developments as most are already pre-sold with new residents/purchasers paying deposits themselves. It's major commercial type developments covering certain criteria, whether that's the size of the development or some other basis say rateable value. If not then you should expect to see more unfinished and undeveloped sites. What is the alternative?

    Planning

Which begs the question why planning permission was approved if they didn't have the funds to even get a roof on!
  22. Sorry. Have to disagree. As a CEO they should be expected to lead from the front. If that means paying the going rate then so be it. The silent department in all of this is Treasury. Cost of everything vs value = zero.
