  1. Money.... You forgot money. Some are there because of the money.
  2. Which airports with the same volume of passengers?
  3. Agreed. There's zero room for any serious development resulting in sustainable revenue/profit. There just isn't the volume of passengers. People are only at the airport for one thing.... transport. It's not a shopping centre or a garden centre with a coffee shop. If we must spend money over and above the essential avionics infrastructure then it should be on developing and extending the passenger terminal out to where the outdoor walkway is to the aprons, with departure areas immediately below each gate in the lounge. The current passenger experience is dire and depressing.
  4. What's wrong with the local lad who's standing in as the temporary CFO? Or is the advert designed to be seen as being transparent and he's actually going to get the job? Or is there no one in the service currently up to scratch and meets the requirements?
  5. I don't think there's much money in running airports these days, so we would certainly expect existing charges to increase and even those that don't exist at the moment to be introduced.
  6. Cardboard stripped of all plastic labelling and tape etc should be shredded and mixed into 'live' compost. It really isn't rocket science.
  7. It would be greener. Now here's a thing.... the late departed former Chief Exec of Onchan Commissioners Malcolm Hulme was a Chartered Environmentalist and a clever bloke in lots of other ways. He carried out a detailed study and produced a report that proved that incinerating all the plastic on the island was indeed greener. I think his main argument was that the more you try to recycle the more carbon is created. Single use plastic is the big issue and manufacturers need to be encouraged (or fined?) to stop using it.
  8. The world's full of twunks like that in so-called business these days.
  9. To coin a favourite word from the Poor Man's Answer to Alan Carr.... "пожалуйста"! 🤣
  10. Well anyone with limited mobility will tell you otherwise (and I'm not talking about spaces for the disabled). Let's use the word restrictive then.
  11. What were you taught about sex, relationships etc by your parents and how old were you?
  12. It was a clusterfuck from start to finish. And all because Longtail wanted to run a tram/light railway from Summerland to the the Sea Terminal. Why a separate stand alone tramway on the seaward side wasn't created I don't know. No need for fancy and expensive obelisks/signs. No need for fancy blocked paving (which is already lifting). No need to restrict the parking width for cars. If DOI wanted to run a dual service tramway (horse & electric) then they got it badly wrong and ignored conventional wisdom and common sense.
  13. I see it's sunny in Ramsey 😁:
  14. Well, if the press reports at the time the power station was built are to be believed it will need to be either replaced or substantially renewed in 2035. Where's the money coming from to do that (whilst we wait for the wind turbines to be procured, built, installed and operating)??
  15. Indeed. In the absence of even a denial of the alleged drag queen episode what are folk to conclude? IOMG are doing themselves and the wider Island no favours at all. It's not even engaged in a damage limitation exercise.
  16. Is there a relationship between the 'new' radar and the ILS that's creating the issue, or just the ILS?
  17. I thought it reverted back to the Baptist church, nothing to do directly with HM?
  18. Could have been worse, someone could have towed it away and sold it at auction! 🤣
  19. Expats did in UAE a few years back.... mind, most of the motors were on hire/lease.
  20. Assuming they are taxpayers (or have been) are they not entitled to the service?
