manxchatterbox
According to PG's interview "the Isle of Man's meat derogation, which lets it control imports of lamb, beef and veal which was due to finish at the end of this year will now last until the end of 2010". so that nicely lets him off the hook from having to introduce some painfull re-structuring measures...and means nothing will start to be done till 6 months before the deadline..... Jonty
Obviously yet another subject you know nothing about. The restructuring needed was flagged in December and will go on for the next five years. Keep up.
manxchatterbox
Jersey seem to be doing a bit of targeted marketing of its meat / dairy industry link:- http://news.ft.com/cms/s/7a7bb3e0-e720-11d...00779e2340.html does Jersey currently benefit from any derugations on the import of meat and dairy products? Are Jersey looking ahead to the ending of a derugation? How could IOM Fatstock and IOM Milk Marketing better improve the percepetion off island of Manx meat and dairy? What sort of niche markets should be targeted and how and when should the marketing effort start? ..suppose it woul be just too much to expect the relevant Ministers/Deptartments to join up and to invite the FT woman over to the IOM for an IOM meat experience...
