manxchatterbox
Have you noticed as you drive into Douglas along Circular Road how much litter there is blowing around...why are there no litter bins and what is being done about it.... In Ireland I see that the plastic bags levy, which came into place on March 14, 2002, has brought in revenues amounting to €55m to the Environment Fund, which is used to fund projects including Bring Banks to promote recycling. Should we have a plastic bag tax here????? and also its reported in the Irish press:- Under an EU directive, new targets have been set for recovering waste that could otherwise end up in landfill. The regulations The directive includes plastic or paper carrier bags as waste packaging under the new terms.setting new targets for the recovery and recycling of packaging amend the original directive on waste. Tango
There is rubbish blowing around because people don't give a shit what the Island looks like. There is always chip papers and McDonalds crap in the round around Glen Vine because that's how long it takes to eat before some ignorant fuckwit throws the wrappers out of the car.
