splink
The Financial Times rport last weekend about the £100,000 capping of tax etc. was rather cynical. Abstract of FT Article Perhaps it was unfortunate that the visit coincided with the annual queue event for the Young Farmer's Concert (YF being akin to the WI in most parts of the UK). I believe there are reporters here this week looking into various aspects of Island life. They could add the excitement we have all had with the snow, including a special roaming radio report on Manx Radio!! Which when you think about it, it's hardly that bad when a chap can whizz about from one location to another all morning and so easily, reporting on the, er, snow. The multi-millionaires we seem so anxious to attract will have loads of excitement to look forward to! Ripsaw
The icy wind buffeting the Douglas seafront yesterday was proof enough the Isle of Man is not your typical sun-drenched island tax shelter. For anyone willing to give the Irish Sea climate the benefit of the doubt, however, a tax experiment is under way that may have a few more multi-millionaires making inquiries of the island's estate agents. A tax "experiment" ?? Dumbass reporters.
