Chinahand
... but planners have insisted the proposed 27 car parking spaces on the site are reserved for sole use of the residents. That's not right ... there is NO parking provided on the site. The initial idea was that the users would use publically available parking already available in Castletown, but the planners have vetoed that insisting parking is dedicated for the development. Castletown commissioners are not willing to dedicate space for the development from their car parks and is only willing to allow them to use the commissioner spaces on a first come first served basis ... because there is insufficient parking in the day. So with out the cooperation of the commissioners to "steal from peter to feed paul" by handing over public parking spaces to the development the developers are trying to get all the parking restrictions abolished rather than make space in the development. Lawnmower
this is finally the sort of forward thinking that is needed. On the continent it is often or usually a condition of new build that NO parking spaces are provided. This means less vehicles being used or entering a town and encourages the use of public transport. .public transport only becomes viable if numbers use it. Its the way forward
