"Manx farming can't survive without subsidies" says Chairman of the Manx National Farmers Union Howard Quayle

Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne says "Government can only be expected to do so much"

I don't mind supporting agriculture but what exactly is the plan to deal with the ending of the EU derugation allowing the IOM to continue restricting meat imports for a further five years...

What was the contingency if the EU hadn't extended the deal?

Does the Agriculture Minister have the ability to publicly put forward the budget to deal with the transition leading up to the ending of the deal before the next election or will he duck out and leave it to someone else?

Is there a scheme that can be successfully implemented by the due date or will it all be left until 6 months before and a panic knee jerk response at some unexpected cost to the taxpayers?

..Doh...connection dropped out and I thought my prev hadn't been posted, plus just finished a bottle of Faustino...oops..don't mind if one thread drops off...time for bed!!
