manxchatterbox Posted March 15, 2006 Share Posted March 15, 2006 The Douglas Corpn Policy and Resources Committee recently resolved that the Corpration would be prepared to exercise the functions of the Trees ande High Hedges Act 2005 if they were delegated by teh Dept of Local Government and the Environment. Strangely however the Douglas Corpn Public Works Committee also resolved that Douglas Corpration not take on any responsibilities under this new legilsation ( being the Trees and High Hedges Act 2005) Der...blown first one way and then t'other... incidentally why should local authorities take on such a responsibility which surely will have a cost of implementation?
