How we came to have four is a long story involving an escaped hamster, a replacement bought which the next day had a litter of 7 (of which two survived) and the finding of the original hamster. They are all hand tame, but since the onset of adolescence, my daughter does not give them the attention they deserve; hair straightening is much more interesting. PM me if interested and I can give you more details. But don't worry, it is not a case of re-home or the hamsters get it, but there may be some child who would like to care for a relatively easy to look after pet able to give one of them a good home.
