Albert Tatlock
Have you noticed how much more commercialised Mother’s Day has become this year. I think if you care about your Mother you will buy her some flowers any time of the year. Who else is fed up with these commercialised ‘Hallmark’ days? Jacqueline
I'd hoped you were being ironic but I fear not. It's not Mother's Day. It's Mothering Sunday. Mother's Day is an Americanism. We are not American. Yet.
Albert Tatlock
The fifteenth advert this evening referred to Mother’s day. Just shows how we can all get sucked into Americanisms. See you later…I’m off to watch a movie!
Jacqueline
Just make sure you don't have any of that nasty popcorn with it. Have some cucumber. Or something.

Mother's Day is an Americanism. We are not American. Yet. Pffft! I was going to say that. And I'm changing the other parent's day to Fathering Sunday. Of course, that's not an instruction to go out and father.

I'm just waiting for "Gay dad" day and "Mummy's best friend" day to be introduced on the grounds of diversity and non discrimination. I can just see the writers at "Hallmark" working out those little verses now.
Tris
Is there a 'pet day' yet? Think of all the different bleedin animals on the cards, ones that open up and make an animal noise.
TerryMcCann
There's a Grandparents Day now isn't there? It didn't exist when I was a kid that's for sure. Also a Happy St Patricks Day card was passed around work for signing. WTF is that all about? I honestly expect to be presented with a card next time I have a really satisfying dump. I'm sure they will be in the shops somewhere
