No probem with this as such, but I wonder once money gets short, will the hospice become just another hospital wing? Judging from the report I would say that could be on the cards already. Douglas) to ask the Minister for Health and Social Security: For the last five years – (a) what is the value of the annual monetary grant to Hospice made by your Department; and (b) what other benefits do they receive? Answer: (a) The value of the monetary grant from DHSS funds to Hospice Care Ltd in the last fve financial years is as follows: 2005-06 £458,000 2004-05 £438,360 2003-04 £421,502 2002-03 £407,457 2001-02 £352,057 The Service Level Agreement by which the Department supports Hospice provides for these cash contributions to be made in two equal instalments during the year, calculated as a 30% contribution of the costs incurred by Hospice in providing .professional services' and .establishment costs', using the Hospice's annual audited accounts.
