jurby and behond!
Daily Newspapers are late yet again. I now refuse to buy a paper if it is not in the shops on time. If everybody did the same we may get a decent service.
Amadeus
Like a speed boat or a private jet or something?... That was one of the good things about working nights on the Ben - the paper lorry was on the cardeck, so the crew were always the first on the island to read the paper
slinkydevil
Daily Newspapers are late yet again. Ah, poor old you. Your using the internet to post, so why not use it to get your much needed, urgent, I can't wait, what will I do, news.
The Old Git
I assume the paper service will be back to normal once the Ben comes back in to service. One woman was playing hell in my local newsagent stores the other day and wouldn't listen to reason. Eventually the bloke pointed to the Seine making its was across the bay, told her again the the papers came on that boat and what exactly did she expect him to do. The Godfather of Manx House
He should have just told her: Tthere's a boat in the morning if you don't like it, love....." Er, hang on :>) ...

Yes I believe its the shops deliberately putting them out later just to pi** us off rather than the fact that THERE ARE NO BOATS RUNNING TO BRING THEM IN ON! jurby and behond!
Missing my point. If there is problems with boats, put them on a plane. I don't think shops are very happy with the service we get regarding newspapers. They must loose vast amounts of money when papers arrive late. Any shopkeepers out there who can tell us if this is true?
MrsTrellisfromNorthWales
When I delivered the daily newspapers in the early 80s in Onchan, they did come in by plane. The plane was much less reliable that the boat, though. Ronaldsway gets so foggy.
manxman8180
If there is problems with boats, put them on a plane. There are no problems with the boats. The regular ship, is on a scheduled service break. They are currently being brought in by plane. There in lies the problem. The plane was much less reliable that the boat, though. Case in point.
