Stu Peters
I see Andy Wint has popped up on Manx Radio again. I'm surprised after the previous waters under the bridge re Energy and the TT bid. Great broadcaster though. Is this the guy Manx Radio staff get hot under the collar about and refer to 'being escorted from the building by the police' and the source of any negative comment on here or elsewhere? No.

No. that's a real shame, surely everyone deserves a second chance.
gettafa
I thought the lad was arrogant on Talking Heads. I hope he has no designs on that ever again. And as for the 'mystery voice' when he was on in the morning.....voices such as F Murray Abraham and Pete Best's auntie (or whatever relation it was) wtf. No wonder it ran for weeks and weeks. Most tedious and boring item I have ever heard on a radio show ever. Edited October 5, 2016 by gettafa

woolley
I'll stick up for Andy Wint. I think he's a good presenter with a good style. It's a shame he fell out with MR but it's obviously all been sorted out. On the phone ins he was just trying to do a mild version of that "shock jock" style that was popular at the time but probably not appreciated by the old stagers phoning in back then. I think they're all dead now anyway. Maybe the shock killed them.
Snaipyr
About 5 years ago ,Andy Wint announced he was writing a book about music on the IOM in the good old days (can't remember which era exactly but I think it was the 1960's.) He appealed on MR for photos/memories and lots of people spent time and effort to help with his research. Ever since he has promised that the book would be out by Xmas, but still waiting!

I thought he was very good on talking heads as he normally was able to get the debate going and was pretty good at being able to understand and put forward both sides of the argument so there was a debate. I don't think he had a tendency to say "I think I agree with that"
Gladys
Is he presenting Talking Heads now? Just very confused at a resurrected thread and what it is AW is doing at MR. Not that I am too bothered as I remember the name but was probably elsewhere during his heyday.
Solution45
Wouldn't be surprised that he moves from the late show fill in duties to taking over Talking Heads and give the programme some much needed new direction.

If you resurrect an old one they get confused.......

llap
The threads about Manx Radio are more interesting than Manx Radio itself. Also, that bloke whose name I don't know but who is always accused of being behind any negative criticism of Manx Radio (because after all, nobody could possibly have anything negative to say about such a shit radio station unless they have an axe to grind), I think it would be entertaining to put him on the air and have an argument or something. Can it be arranged?
NoTail
I support you Stu, keep up the good work. If you did get kicked off Talking Heads I wouldnt mind if you got the Saturday night gig back. As long as you did not give Pink Floyd such importance.
