Quirky should be banned from calling

I disagree, as it shows how wonderful and intellectual our politicians were at the start of the new Milliennium😁.

Manx Radio should also ask about the problems of selective memory syndrome of past and present Tynwald members, Is it going to be an issue for these new members. Quirky on gas, never speaks about it, Look at  Rob Callister ,forgetting he voted for the Post office stategy, after saying he had disagreed with the post office and its stategy for the past five years, which is why he couldn't or wouldn't become the chairman of the said post office.

Well, the latest RAJAR figures are out today…

Manx Radio continues to decline, reporting its lowest audience in over 8 years. 47,000 people were listening back in 2015 - but only 27,000 these days.

The problem with Manx Radio is it will not admit it has an older audience and plan the programmes accordingly.   The minute I hear rap I turn over to another station and I am sure I am not alone.   Every time the news is on it seems to be a new newsreader…why..?   If there is a slow news day on Thursday you get Mondays news rehashed.    They are totally lazy with their reporting and the breakfast pair read chunks out of stories that appeared in the Daily Mail a week ago.   There needs to be a cull of staff.

Clearly the subvention needs to be raised, more money needs to be thrown at the problem 😂

It would appear they've given up on the millennials. The centenials/generation Z were never there.

They're now trying for the new generation (Alpha?) by bringing the primary school kids into the morning breakfast programme mix with some guessing games. It might work if they can sustain their interest for 10-20 years.

I can't blame Manx Radio for trying and when they are subbed by the Government with over £1million annually then they have nothing to lose.

Manx Radio told me where to go when they binned Morning Mandate. And put the lad Peters out to pasture from Mannin Line, a bit of a dinosoaur many would say, but it's dinosaurs that were tuning in.

You're not alone, Sid.

Even She Who Speaks, a died in the wool Manxie, only listens to the news in the morning then switches off for the rest of day except Saturdays when it stays on for Chris Williams' Carnaby Street program, after that it goes off.

It's quite sad really. The directors need their fees stopping until the trend is reversed. But we all know that won't happen. I do wonder what the Brindley Boy has over the Directors and others that fund his salary.

Even for a community based radio to be treating it's almost captive audience with disdain is quite shocking.

Any Programme Manager at any radio station in the UK presiding over such a fall in listenership would have been sacked very quickly. The figures (or ‘books’ as they’re often called) typically come out every 3 months - you don’t need many declining books to be in trouble. One Scottish radio group would let you have 2 in a row - get a 3rd and you’re gone!

OMG, Andy Wint is advertising the Love Line for St Valentine's day.  It's like listening to me Dad and would have the same effect on any romantic thoughts that may cross my mind.

Why is he given so much airtime?  There is never a bank holiday that he isn’t wheeled out with some specialist music show or other, does the Mannin Line every week day and a show on Sunday morning, with his Wonky fucking Wurlitzer.

He is the worst presenter on the station and should be binned.

I think stereo radio is perfect for music shows featuring disk jockeys, Put the music on the left channel and the DJ on the other - and listen in mono, whichever side you prefer.

Years ago on AFN Munich there was a DJ who spoke very little - and played good music too.
Listen to the first 30 secs. of this broadcast and compare that to the never-ending modern-day DJ (you could listen to a few seconds more, but you are all probably too young to have heard of the Rolling Stones).
