'He should be sacked for that'.  Seriously??

How dare you suggest that someone with 20+ years service should be summarily dismissed for featuring a worthwhile news story that he has a minor stake in. These videos are great Xmas gifts, made by a local company with local talent, and are a great showcase for the IOM. So it was a newsworthy piece. Typical of the Facebook/SJW mob mentality these days that people should be fired if you don't agree with someting about them.

So why not advertise it on MR? After all MR needs the revenue, doesn't it?

Maybe they will - that's their decision and not MR's.

But it's still a newsworthy item, and my advice to people with a limited budget is to try simple PR (as in this case) and/or Facebook advertising before anything else.

On a tiny island, it's hard not to know someone who is involved in pretty much everything that happens: what should Manx Radio do? Only promote stuff that is made off-island so as to avoid every conflict of interest? Should Duke have to use voice-overs from off island, so they can be mentioned on-air?

Daft, and self defeating.

Perhaps Duke could have paid for some advertising to help ease the financial burdens that Manx Radio are under.

I hear their rates are very competitive...

To be fair Stu, I'd be absolutely gutted if I got that for Christmas.

As I’ve never said monitoring was done by IoMG, No!

You claim Manx Radio can only broadcast with permission of BBC.

Prove it.

Getting Woody2 to back up his ridiculous claims with facts?

Who hasn't been there, done that, wasted their bandwidth....?
