Some Queen stuff was fantastic, but Some was dreadful . Killer Queen and Seven seas of Rhye were superb. Always liked You're My Best Friend. Quite partial to 39 too. Can just imagine it. "Can you get a move on. We'll miss the bridge!" And they say romance is dead. Edited June 18, 2020 by woolley

Ticketmaster have still got my money though. Adam Lambert is a much better fit with Queen than Paul Rodgers ever was. I agree he's a better singer than Freddie, certainly compared to Freddie's later phase after all those years of self-abuse. Some of Freddie's early recordings though are astounding - you can find some isolated vocal tracks on YouTube if you're interested. To be fair Freddie was much more than just about the singing. He was an accomplished musician and he was also an incredible stage presence and performer. Adam Lambert has a lot of qualities in his own right. But Mercury was a genius and a one off. Queen made music that will stand the test of time.
woolley
I try to be objective. Personally, I think genius is putting it a bit strong. Very talented, certainly.
Gladys
One of the best albums was Made in Heaven, IMO. It is "easy" I suppose for all you musos, but it was very poignant and had the best ever Christmas track. Music, like any other art, just has to resonate, it doesn't matter if it isn't technically or critically the best, just if it is the best for you and if you "get something" from it.

Shake me up Judy
Good old Willie. Is he still around ? He used to cut my hair for about ten years when I lived near his shop. Those 70s nights at the Douglas Head were really special. Great bands, good atmosphere, nice people.
