Stu's statement is that he asked for the removal of the call element.

Setting aside this show, I think in general phone-in shows are usually crap now. I turn Five Live off whenever they go to phone ins, even 606. Question Time is pointless and never reaches a conclusion or resolution. Danny Baker used to be good because he would just say "tell us a story about the time..." and people would phone in and tell a funny story, but all this opinionated shit is the reason the World's in the mess it is.

Let's at least give ourselves a bit of a challenge. China into Hong Kong?  We gave solemn guarantees to those folks.

Nah, too far removed from the public consciousness now.

Gibraltar is where the action will be.  The filthy Spanish trying to steal our rock!

Would be interesting, but cannot see any circumstances where it would happen. (I appreciate the scenario was posted as a quip)

Of course, you are correct.  Spain would have the backing of the EU (and that European Army we were so keen to avoid) which would leave the UK with a few small ships, an aircraft carrier without any planes and aging submarines.

Ha ha. I see you are maintaining the humorous element of this.

Yes, the UK is a joke.

While the EU can't even decide who is paying for the next bail out. And military assistance from the EU? Don't hold your breath. They might send their best wishes as they did to Italy over the pandemic. Best stick to shuffling paper around and issuing silly rules.

Spain has a total of three diesel-electric conventional submarines the newest of which is 34 years old.

UK has 11 Nuclear subs the newest of which is less than three months old.

Spain has one 26,000 ton amphibious assault ship ten years old, UK has two new 65,000 ton carriers currently conducting helo ops with fixed wing to follow.

UK is a nuclear power, Spain is not.

Are you proposing a preemptive,  all out nuclear attack on Spain?
