No, probably not.  Perhaps one objective would be to obtain professional advice on how to promote themselves and their ideals, so they are able to.present well and be taken seriously  rather than dismissed as slightly hysterical.  Then to plan to have interviews with all IOM media based on a clear mission statement, by a quality spokesperson who can clearly and calmly convey their message.  Then, perhaps, to offer coaching in latent racism to commercial and government organisations.   Also, offer guidance to POCs on how to react when they experience racism no matter how passive.

That way they will gain audience and credibility.

Or,...............they could all just STFU and get on with their lives. What do they think we owe them. ?

Was it Bro’s that sang, ‘ I owe you nothing” ?

The groups which have come to the fore to promote Racial Equality in the current reaction to Police actions are hardly cohesive organisations?

They are disparate people, of all colours, who have come together  to raise awareness of a problem in many societies and for many different groups of people, who have also taken the opportunity to air their grievances.

One can not  expect them to have to organisation of, say, a British Political Party, with regular meetings, committees and a long debated and updated Manifesto?

But they won't, will they?  They will just be irritants.   But if they can present themselves better and calmly debate the issues, perhaps we will all benefit.

Why not, if they want to be heard and listened to?

Every single generation of protestors and irritants have ultimately become the next generation of leaders.

People trying to change their world with big ideas is what keeps things moving forward.

Gladys, you wrote eloquently earlier about Leicesters sweat shops and the rag trade. If they 'go on about it' for too long, will they become 'irritants'?

No, just highly skilled machinists. Sorry

The KKK have, of course, opened up their meetings to Black People in the interests of diversity. Their soulful chanting was a charming addition to our White mumblings, said a spokesman, although, a spokeswoman was to later repeat this for inclusion reasons.

Last years Tory conference was opened up to members of Momentum to share their platform.

Haha. But it's not really a fair comparison, is it? More like inviting everyone to a rock concert and then confining the after-party to the redheads.

It's hard to believe that there is Racism or Racists on the Island. Is that because we Whites, go home, close our front door and fail to look out of the window?

Polish people are subject to racist remarks on the Island, can we excuse that by saying, I thought you were Bulgarian? Equal rights for all I think.

The 'Man in the Pub' who spouts in a racist, sexist or any other Non PC manner, do we confront them or turn our back on them, if the latter, they remain a racist!

Let's hope that the current highlighting of BLM/POC. can be the start of a move to equal rights for all.  It will not remain headlines for long, let's react positively while it is in our minds.

You're right about concrete objectives of course, though I get the impression that the various groups that have emerged out of the whole BLM movement are not happy to settle for the usual sort of token gestures of the lighting up the Tower of Refuge type.

To be fair though, they did offer to light it up black.

Without actually talking to MR they surely have no idea what was being offered? It's a local entertainment and news/information station, taking up an evening or afternoon with black issues will probably only be of interest to black people I would imagine? If it became a platform for telling white people how evil they are and how privileged they are, it's just going to drive a wedge between everyone.

Black music gets the same exposure as white music so I can't see any advantage in having a black only music programme, although there are good reasons to do so for pure musical talent?

Maybe they could alternate it with that half hour Manx Gaelic thing they put out on AM only. Probably get similar audience figures too.
