Manx Radio should be turned into a community radio station with zero taxpayer funding. 

The content they produce now is basically hospital radio, so why are we funding it like we are?

It is quite a bit better than hospital radio, although not as much current affairs coverage as there used to be.  However, I would say it appeals to a certain demographic, which may not cover you.

Not sure what hospital radio you listen to that carries a range of specialist programmes from brass band to jazz , programmes on the arts and farming !Also offers regular updates on current affairs.  It might not be to your taste but to define it as hospital radio is total nonsense!

Brass bands, jazz and farming? Yes, well worth the £1m+ they drain from us each year. 

 

Those kind of shows should be made for free by people who do it as a hobby.

My point is you defined it as hospital radio and if you look at its output 24/7 its not. It provides the news for the island and serves the entire island. I bet you have never really listened to it to realise what they do. If you don't like it choose another station!

I was told once by the fella who does time for Brass it’s one of the most listened to shows due to all the streaming from of island by Brass fans from around the globe and I’ve no reason to doubt it.

So I don’t travel on the mountain road can I choose not to fund that?  I have never thank goodness been in an ambulance can I choose not to fund that ? What utter nonsense there will always be things you don’t like or personally use it’s about being part of society!
