There are two or sometimes three people on the breakfast show boring for Britain and mostly talking about themselves, their likes and dislikes. After 9.30am it improves until 1.00pm and the afternoon show, which I cannot comment on because I have listened to it. When Manx Radio first started it was pure Michael mouse with swap shop etc but at least it wasn’t costing over a million in subsidies. Does the new female news reader remind anyone else of Tricia Takanawa on Family Guy?

Also why does Dave Moore read the news like he’s commenting on the last lap of a close bike race? I have heard Rhian on the late show I would totally agree she is doing a great job and bringing something different to that slot . 1

James Blonde
Manx Radio should be turned into a community radio station with zero taxpayer funding. The content they produce now is basically hospital radio, so why are we funding it like we are? 2

Derek Flint
17 hours ago, Anyone said: Not that I’m a big fan of George Osborne but comparing him to you is bit of a stretch , unless of course you fancy the gig of chancellor. Think about what he had that perhaps did not. It is a bit of a stretch. I’m a professionally qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He isnt.

It is quite a bit better than hospital radio, although not as much current affairs coverage as there used to be. However, I would say it appeals to a certain demographic, which may not cover you.

Not sure what hospital radio you listen to that carries a range of specialist programmes from brass band to jazz , programmes on the arts and farming !Also offers regular updates on current affairs. It might not be to your taste but to define it as hospital radio is total nonsense! 2

Those kind of shows should be made for free by people who do it as a hobby. Edited December 17, 2021 by James Blonde

It provides the news for the island and serves the entire island. I bet you have never really listened to it to realise what they do. If you don't like it choose another station! GreyWolf
I was told once by the fella who does time for Brass it’s one of the most listened to shows due to all the streaming from of island by Brass fans from around the globe and I’ve no reason to doubt it. I had no reason to doubt that either..............
