WTF was going on between about 12 and 1?

I had the misfortune to hear NPM and instead of the Moanin Line it was Wintio reading out a list of people who have died during the year. I imagine he was sat there wearing his grim reaper outfit.

To be honest I quite like the Dead Musicians show. You do learn some stuff and some good music is played.

You are the one who seems to fail to understand the concept of public services where you can end up paying for services which you don’t want but others do . That’s the basis of society and it’s exactly how it should be.

We are talking about soul music.  How on earth is a soul music show a public service when there are hundreds of better ways to listen already, either via a streaming service or specialist radio stations 😂

But you just don’t even get any of it do you . I said and I quote a soul show is great in addition to soul music and other genres included on the regular play list if you check back you will see I clarified that . Tell me why a lot of other radio stations have specialist shows alongside their mainstream output including Radio 2 and many other local stations or are you saying they don’t know what they are doing or what there listeners want ?

Quite, why would anyone choose MR with some church hall level entertainer attempt to do a music based show reading 'facts' out from wikipedia as @IOMsuggests, given the real deal is already available and without adverts.  Local news is the only USP but that is much easier online. And with A&E at its limits you see taxpayers money spunked on stuff like this (112 views was it really worth it?)

They’d have been all in last night anyway playing their favorite game.

I listened to Manx Radio news this morning.

They covered the issue of home births v hospital births (discussed elsewhere on these pages)

For that particular news segment Mr and Mrs “S” related their experience of being denied a home birth, after moving to the Island a couple of years ago.

It seemed that their choice to move here might have been influenced by their belief that home births were available ( allowed?) here.

However this wasn’t clear, nor was the rest of the interview as their voices were anonomised by some sort of device that made them sound like aliens in an episode of Dr Who.

I gave up trying to decipher what they were saying as it became too difficult.

This is obviously an important topic to many. Surely it would have been better to have used stand ins to read the transcript of what this couple were saying, which would still have preserved their anonymity whilst letting the listener have a clear understanding of what they were saying.

When are Manx Radio going to get disabled access for their building.

'Reporters' should be out around the island seeing how the Equality Act 2017 is working in practice.

I seem to remember government agreeing to this and plans were drawn up before the money ran out. Not an easy site to adapt, to be fair.

Yes I remember the plans.

Reporters could still emerge from the building to find out how the Equality Act 2017 is working.

There's no point in passing legislation if it's not implemented or people are not aware of how it is being enacted.
