Pat Ayres
Quite correct old boy. Mustn't get too excited must we. The DVLC does share info with IOM Gov and registrations are exchanged. Get 'flashed' in England and you get a ticket through the post. My boss got about a dozen congestion charge notices the other day and had to pay them. There is a question whether the English authorities can endorce a Manx licence, any info gratefully received. The question of a penalty notice from a Tesco agent being inforceable here needs addressing as well. It is a civil matter (not a fine) and very difficult to take to court. Surely, if the 'offence' is committed here an English court can not rule on it.

It would be a fairly simple small claims procedure, nothing hard about that.
Topaz
http://politics.guardian.co.uk/foi/story/0,,1573989,00.html As for the parking notice board. I would have expected to see "If you park here you are agreeing to our terms and conditions"......Otherwise it is a one sided contract.
Minxie
I did notice the line at the bottom of the sign that says "All profits from car park charges will be donated to Tesco Charity of the Year" which is good. Alternatively to sending out fines they could, as it is private property, just clamp the cars which would be far more inconvenience to the owners. Don't know if the English authorities can endorce a Manx licence or not but was thinking, Can you drive with one of the black and silver number plates, As they aren't recongnised by cameras, I remember reading that if the car is over a certain age you can legally have the plates on it. tynwald
Tesco - why stop there let any one have access to the DHSS computers the Tax Office, Hospital, Doctors and the Courts. What could they do with that amount of information going the the high street shops - then let's imagine frre access to the Government Main Frame!!!!!!!java script:emoticon('', 'smid_4')
Cret
That sign is a beauty! "For further information, please call the Tesco parking helpline: We will contact the department of transport to obtain your details" That looks odd for a 'helpline'. I can't actually see a phone number there at all.....
