Declan
I think its great that in this day and age, with bling and the Beckhams, that Peter Crouch exists. He is not like any other professional footballer. He gets slagged to death at Villa but rebuilds his career at Southampton. He gets tremendous stick at the start of the season but keeps plugging away and ends the season with 19 goals and a trip to the World Cup. He gets battered from piller to post every game and just picks himself up. He makes a tit of himself at the Beckham's party and then turns it into a goal celebration taking the piss out of himself. You just know he's the first into training every day and the last to leave. He's far from the best player around, but you've got to love his attitiude. Ean
He finished the season with 19 goals? Bloody hell! I agree, he seems to take everything on the chin and carry on doing what he's doing. There's the future king of England and I'm dancing in front of him," said Crouch. "It was surreal. Good man!

Speckled Frost
If you care to read his quotes, he's never suggested he can step into Rooney's shoes. Who can? He's just said he feels he is in decent form and can do a job.
