simon
Captain Peacock is the only other civilian captain I can immediately think of. Does anyone still use 'Esquire'?
lisner
This is a highly important serious subject here. Anyone would think it is more useful and appropriate to chat about fake or cartoon captain characters than it is to discuss one of our great leaders. Oh, ok then, this is my contribution: Web Page Although I am not sure about Captain Underpants books "rank just behind J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books on leading children's bestseller lists". Pat Ayres
I don't think it's nievity at all. Someone I know will do absolutely anything if someone has 'Lady' or 'Sir' in front of their name. Usually has someone else do it for him and basks in the false glory he thinks he deserves. If there was a medal for sucking up he would be in line. Obviously the captain has cottoned onto something here he does get elected with this lie after all.
