Stef
You sure it has to be CD? You may be able to use firewire: boot the computer into target mode and then install from another Mac with a DVD drive. (Or boot say, a Powerbook, into target mode and use its drive on the other machine.) Of course, if you haven't got firewire on the Mac in question this won't work Tiger'll work fine with older Macs, may be worth considering? (If you've got any spare licences. Bit of a gray area but a family pack's got 5 for "family", not that there is any copy protection or licencing checks.) I recently installed it on a mate's Pismo and it runs remarkably well, esp. given that it's a 500MHz G3 with 128MB of memory!
ermo
Hi Stef Thanks for the reply. I thought I'd go the Panther route as I only have the 1 Mac now (sob..sob..) It is a Power Mac G4 533Mhz Digital Audio with just a CD/RW (& it was a cheap option). I've never tried Tiger on this machine as I was told it was clunkly on anything below a 1Ghz. Ahh damn the expense I'll grab a DVD drive & purchase Tiger Thanks again Ermo
