pontiuspilot
Did anyone else notice that Ned gave a etition to the governor at yesterday's tynwald ceremony? I'd love to know what that was about. An exemption from procecution for ex-cheif ministers wives, perhaps? You could say more neck than a giraffe. Hay ho, all part of lifes rich tapestry. nipper
It wasn't mentioned in the Manx Independent newspaper today p3, where they gave a run down of the petitions. The purpose of a petition is to form a Select Committee to look into a grievance or other matter. There is absolutely no need for Ned (or anyone else for that matter) to go through the process of presenting a petition on Tynwald Day, other than to gain publicity. Anyway, I don't mean to spoil the thread so let's all pretrend he did put one in.

Have we slipped into the Twilight Zone.

I realise that quite often you appear to be on another planet, but I assumed you used the same units of time as we do. I make it 28 minutes, but there you go. thebees
These petition things.....do they work? I mean, say for example I thought there was something very wrong with the 'Pot laws', if people made a decent enough petition to Tynwald would it be possible to sort the laws out? Do you know of any petitions the have been sucessful?
