THE LOOPHOLE You don't have to meet any financial conditions to qualify for Advocacy Assistance, except if it's a prison hearing. The other type of help is called Representation. It covers representation by a solicitor and, if necessary, by a barrister in criminal cases. You'll usually get help with representation in a criminal case, as long as it's in the interests of justice that you are legally represented. This means, for example.if you are likely to go to prison or lose your job if you are convicted. Representation does not cover minor offences such as motoring offences. Your financial circumstances will not be taken into account when deciding whether you qualify for Representation. However, if your case goes to the Crown Court, you could be ordered to pay towards the costs of Representation if the judge believes this would be reasonable. Your financial circumstances will be taken in account when deciding if it is reasonable for you to pay. Who needs RSS, eh? ?????

Gladys
I'm sure MR reported that the joiner had built a treehouse for Mrs Ned's daughter? Surely not!
LoneWolf
Dont know if its irritating anyone else [ok grumpy old git I know] But is it too much trouble for people posting quotes to preview and fix their posts if there is a problem? Maybe Ans should set up classes.

Gladys
Have to say, that is not the most annoying attribute of most of their posts; it is normally the content!
Billy One Mate
He went on to say he had been given Mr Corkill’s security swipecard to government buildings and been sent there on errands. Please, please tell me this isnt true. We will be the laughing stock of the whole world. Our Chief Minister hands out his security swipe card to a workman off a building site. This would surely have given him access to all parts of Tynwald Buildings, the CMs and Council of Ministers office. Maybe this is what is meant by an open and transparent Government. Profane1
Laughing stock? The swipecard is the least of our worries. Worry more about the whole of this case.
