mojomonkey
Every time any minister tries to get rid of local authorities, or least reform them, they seem to get lamblasted for it. To my mind there only needs to be four or five local authorities for the entire Island.
Tempus Fugit
but 'the government' only seems to want to gobble up anything in Douglas, and expect the outlying commissioners to just organise the bin collections ("we get all the rubbish jobs" !) So out of 76k people, why do about 30% work for the government ?
Lonan3
I dont think they should be on Douglas rates. They should be funded by Government. You need to be careful who you vote for for and if you dont vote ..tough. You obviously live in a constituency with more than one representative!
