Casino Crazy
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4797631.stm This makes me sick. Having seen the effects of this drug on adults, i hope the child gets the best help possible.

x-in-man
More lesson learnt by UK social services? Its a pity that they all have a 30 second memory. The story horrified me when I saw it on the box last night. 2 Years of not attending school on a regular basis - and it takes the Police to arrest the mother for shop lifting for it all to come to light. Just what do they think they are doing ..... AGAIN!.
Lonan3
The role of East Sussex Social Services was questioned by Judge Niblett, who said that if it had not been for the arrest, social services might not have intervened. This was despite a social services case conference about the boy being held in 2004, he said. In a statement, Matt Dunkley, director of children's services for East Sussex County Council, said: "Our service has the highest possible rating for child protection" Ah, so that's all right, then. Ripsaw
"Our service has the highest possible rating for child protection" According to an article this morning, Social Services were fully aware of the mothers drug addiction. They made Seven visits to the home. The woman's father complained that SS and police should be ashamed, Hello? where were you for the past 3 years? The IOM DHSS are due to make a statement today regarding the recent child care inquiry, an inquiry that uncovered serious flaws and working prctices that would probably remain in place today if not for an incident that concentrated responsible minds. As one witness (with responsibility) highlighted to the inquiry (not verbatem) 'Child care was contracted out. There were no means of checking the quality of service in place'. localyokel
I've always felt that "smacking" your kids was totally inappropriate behaviour.
