Read this story on the BBC.

Scottish prosecutors cautioned the Celtic goalkeeper for crossing himself during a match against Rangers.

Artur Boruc was cautioned for a breach of the peace over the incident at an Old Firm match at Ibrox in February.

The Catholic Church called it "worrying and alarming" - especially as the sign of the cross was globally accepted as a "gesture of religious reverence".

The Crown Office said the gesture was provocative and caused crowd trouble.

It said the procurator fiscal had issued the caution as an alternative to prosecution.

Is it: Anti Catholic yobs riot after player openly displays religious faith?

In which case this is clearly an injustice.

Or is it: Player deliberately provokes people into violence?

In which case you can agree with the police.

I think its more the former than the latter.

Looks like Forum 18 still has a lot of work to do!

Forum 18 is committed to religious freedom for all on the basis of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, may be summarised as:

The right to believe, to worship and witness

The right to change one's belief or religion

The right to join together and express one's belief.

Forum 18 is an instrument to promote the implementation of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and concentrates upon gross and open breaches of religious freedom, especially situations where the lives of individuals or groups are threatened, and where the right to gather based upon belief is threatened.
