I have a lot of love, and I can see some benefits to having lots of wives, while, I guess it's also a lot of headaches (you could appoint body-guard wives too I guess).

 

When you read about this place, it is something from a Hollywood film. The town has it's own police force, some of which are polygamists and have a few young bridges, so they dont really enforce the law. The older guys booted out all the young men for "sins" and subsequently married all the younger women. Men need at least three wives to go to heaven. Anyone who talked to a "Gentile" — the term for anyone outside the church — risked eternal damnation.

 

Obviously there's a lot of nasty stuff going on (rape, underage sex etc).
