The strongest winds are expected during Thursday with Northern Ireland most at risk. Gusts of 70-80mph are expected. Winds of this strength early in the autumn are likely to lead to disruption to transport and power supplies. There is also a small risk of exceptionally severe gales with gusts in excess of 80mph. AlexMcC Posted September 20, 2006 Share Posted September 20, 2006 Hurricane Gordon's remains might cross the UK later in the week, at the moment it's just the tail end, Hurricanes can't exist this far North as the sea is too cold. There might be some real warm weather down south of the UK at the weekend though.
