matty
I would have thought it wouldn't be possible to have two mobiles actively 'on-air' if they shared the same SIM ID's?? Surely if one SIM was logged onto the network, then wouldn't another SIM with the same ID be locked out, or at least flagged?? Just 'Googled' cloned gsm sim and came up with a few interesting sites, seems allegedly it is possible to clone a SIM, but only one phone can make a 'call' at a time - one site also mentions that you need the original SIM in a card reader for a PC to 'crack' it. Sim cloning link. I would certainly call MT and ask about the possibilties of someone using a a cloned SIM, as I'm sure it would be flagged if a SIM card was being used to make calls, especially if the cells were in different geographic regions! As Ans mentioned previously - ask for a retrospective itemised bill if you can get it - if you do, go through the calls and see if there have been calls made from different geographical regions - this will give you an idea if a cloned SIM has been used (- probably highly unlikely on the IOM, although I think this would be very unlikely anyway). Theskeat
Manx Telecom are not bad when it comes to a problem, earlier this year I recieved my pronto bill and on one night I had been billed for almost 100 calls to a game show, all after midnight. I brought this to the attention of MT and explained that I was not on the Island at the Time of the calls and on checking the bill it was clear to see that on that date I was being charged for roaming, they cleared the bill. localyokel
I'm sure you consider your employee to be trustworthy, but I'm a suspicious bastard and I've heard the "oh it must be the computer's fault then, because I wasn't looking at porn" excuse too many times. There is always the most likely explanation - it's them all along. It might be a case that they didn't know they were calling a premium service (soooo many people just don't know what the dialliang codes mean) or they just didn't think they'd get found out. Agreed. I've seen people deny all sorts of stuff ... and there it is, on the server, downloaded by their machine when they were using it. If people just had the guts to put their hands up and say "Yes its me. I'm a dirty b*stard" life would be so much easier. Sooner of later they will slip up again. You have to be suspicious ..... like those casualty Doctors who see people with all sorts of stuff stuck up them because they "slipped on some soap" and just happened to fell on that upright tooth brush /light blub / hamster.
