From Liverpool "The Beehives"

Brief detail on the band:

The Beehives, formed in 2005, are a melodic indie four-piece band. Their sound, sitting somewhere in the middle-ground between Athlete and Damien Rice, is a blend of introspective lyrics with catchy rhythms and melodic guitar lines. From the naivety of their first gig and demo (The Way We Are) the band have gone onto become one of the fore-runners of Liverpools growing music scene.

Haling from various parts of England the band are Tom Speight, Mike Halls, Gareth Bullock and Oliver Hardaker. Though tied with the Indie label, the bands sound runs far deeper than initial listens might suggest. Listen again and youll hear multi-faceted lyrics, telling tales of life (Twelve Hours), relationships (Gossip) and human interaction (Apologize) a-top a sonic picture of intricate guitar work with driving drum and bass referencing both John Lennon and Parachutes era Coldplay.

From their conception in late 2005 The Beehives have played a string of reputable venues in and around the north-west, including, most notably, a sold-out show at Liverpools the Zanzibar. Having built a strong fan-base through their charismatic live performances the band entered the studio in early 2006 to record an EP. Working with producers from the Liverpool area the EP captures the band in a new light, complementing the songs and resulting in a coherent and palatable sound.
