nipper
It was quite an exciting time on the Traffic Report this morning with a few things happening with our roads, but where is "The 11th Milestone". This place was mentioned over and over again this morning by Stu, and Alex Brindley has just mentioned it again. Lots of people simply don't know where the 11th Milestone is, other than presumably on the TT course somewhere over there [point finger over towrds Peel, or Ramsey]. Silentbob
From the MR Website Police say the Mountain Road, which has suffered a landfall in one section, is likely to remain closed until midday at the earliest, when a decision will be made with regard to opening the road. And the Creg ny Baa Back Road and Gleneedle to the Garey Road is also closed to traffic due to flooding.

Pffft! Everyone knows the 11th milestone is between the 10th and 12th milestones!

thebees
If people were allowed to get peat still things like this might not happen, or would they?
Tempus Fugit
but do they have to cloas ALL of the mountain road ?, why not just the bit that's blocked, there's other ways around it if it's just the mountain mile for example. or is it a power thing !!!!! BigDave
If people were allowed to get peat still things like this might not happen, or would they? Probably more, as the removal of the top layer of vegetation would destabilise the hillside further.
thebees
Really, I'd have thought there would be less mud to fall. Learning more every day
