Albert Tatlock
After interviewing 16,000 people on the island in the search for these bogus workmen, I am reliably informed that the cops have narrowed it down to 15,736 suspects. _

jurby and behond!
Hate to say it but its likely to be the same lot who have being conning people in Douglas and Onchan for years and they are well known to the Police , Trading Standards and people in the building trade. All we hear from the Police every 6 months or so is beware of rogue traders they are in your area. Most people know who they are, why can't they be named and shamed. We need someone to approch the TV programe Rogue Traders and put these well known locals behind bars.

ans
well if there well known already, make a start and put there names on here, just change a letter in said names for legal reasons B) Legal view is that if the complainant is easily identifiable, it's still actionable. Changing a letter doesn't do shit. Go post it on your own forum if you want to end up in court.

If I was cynical I might just think this is just one in a series of warnings which the police seem to issue every year at the end of November and beginning of December. Im almost certain the run up to Xmas puts them in bad mood mode. Take your pick ...rogue roofers, drink drivers, and tonight the best of the lot, a warning to shop lifters!
