|Porton Down's boss would not comment on whether the lab had developed or keeps stocks of novichok, but dismissed suggestions the substance used to poison the Skripals had come from Porton Down.

"There is no way anything like that could have come from us or left the four walls of our facility," said Mr Aitkenhead.

So..........if they didn't have it, it couldn't be taken out    ????

What were you expecting? A couple of little vials with ‘Made in Russia’ on them. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a highly likely to be a duck. The U.K. government and 20 others have consulted their duck experts and concluded that it is a duck; even if the forensic scientists can’t prove a country of origin for the particular poison. I don’t think much of Boris or Worzil Gummage, but JC isn’t some devil’s advocate of a backbencher - he’s the leader of the opposition.

To be fair to Corbyn he's also a damn sight smarter than the media are giving him credit for.

If Russia wanted these two dead why would they use chemical weapons? That’s going to draw attention to them. There’s thousands of less conspicuous methods of killing someone that don’t point to Russia.

Unless Russia wanted to cause this kerfuffle.

The Chinese have a phrase Killing the chicken to scare the monkeys  ... maybe we should add ... and impress the rats.

Putin has deliberately caused lots of kerfuffles in the last decade with little consequence. When Letvenchenvo (can’t spell) was poisoned with Polonium two diplomats were expelled.

The idea this was entirely deliberate isn’t so odd.

Agreed. But there is also the possibility that a third party wanted to cause this kerfuffle. There are ex-Soviet Union countries who would have every reason to do it, Ukraine for example.

Anyone who wanted a kerfuffle must be delighted at present, because they have one and because there is every chance that Britain will finish up with a barrel of egg on it's face.

It was always a dangerous move appointing a buffoon as Foreign Secretary.

Orchestrated?  What about your Guardian articles going on about the scarecrow’s failure to drum up support. Bit of an about turn there Stinky.

The Uk had to work hard to get a tough response.

Guzzi, it could be the Ukrainians, but government also has access to intelligence.

Who knows what telephone calls and emails have been monitored and conversations over heard.

Boris isn’t the person doing the intelligence analysis, but I admit he is the person reading and interpreting it politically, but do you really find the UK approach so reckless?

Have to admit this slightly reminds me of the Strong & Stable balony which crumbles when put to the test.

There is obviously uncertainty and claiming things are absolutely certain is going to leave you exposed.

Don’t over sell needs tattooing on Theresa May’s forehead.
