bollocks
http://www.wired.com/news/technology/1,72134-0.html The crowd is getting ugly. Soldiers roll up in a Hummer. Suddenly, the whole right half of your body is screaming in agony. You feel like you've been dipped in molten lava. You almost faint from shock and pain, but instead you stumble backwards -- and then start running. To your surprise, everyone else is running too. In a few seconds, the street is completely empty. You've just been hit with a new nonlethal weapon that has been certified for use in Iraq -- even though critics argue there may be unforeseen effects. According to documents obtained for Wired News under federal sunshine laws, the Air Force's Active Denial System, or ADS, has been certified safe after lengthy tests by military scientists in the lab and in war games. The ADS shoots a beam of millimeters waves, which are longer in wavelength than x-rays but shorter than microwaves -- 94 GHz (= 3 mm wavelength) compared to 2.45 GHz (= 12 cm wavelength) in a standard microwave oven. The longer waves are thought to limit the effects of the radiation. If used properly, ADS will produce no lasting adverse affects, the military argues. Documents acquired for Wired News using the Freedom of Information Act claim that most of the radiation (83 percent) is instantly absorbed by the top layer of the skin, heating it rapidly. Gladys
The out-laws! I know of only one other person that uses that phrase and he lives in the deep south! Back to thread, isn't it amazing just how much human ingenuity goes into hurting and killing other humans?
immortalpuppet
When i was in the mob we worked with the US army in Texas, one of the things we were testing was a jamming platform mounted on the side of a blackhawk. While the yanks were testing it they had a large amount of people go sick with all different symptoms but all had really really bad headaches. After a while and alot of sick soldiers they found out that the frequency hoppers they were using were completly wrong and they were not jamming the correct frequency spectrum, instead of scrapping the project it was reclassified and went to the syops dept (horrible bastards who who work on all that sneaky warefare, like playing recordings of babies crying through speakers mounted on hummers.) Yeah, but a special protocol was added to the Geneva Convention to prevent them playing James Blunt recordings.
Cret
I want to get a device like this for moving harassing herds of chavs/scallies when they are getting rowdy & going into asbo mode. Would be ace to be able to aim this invisible 'heat ray' out of your window at 3am on a friday night when people are screaming & shouting in the street and watch them writhe and suffer. Whoooosh with our heat ray! Whoooosh!!

Tuna Sandwich
"....and melted the Thunderchild's valiant heart." Who remembers the Neutron bomb? I cannot remember who invented it but it was a bomb that killed people, animals, etc. but did not cause mass destruction. It left building intact and (if I remember correctly) did not affect plant life. Iam not sure why it was outlawed, probably because of the lack of destruction. It was known as the 'landlord' weapon because it removed the tenants without destroying the building. I think it's development was halted in one of the S.A.L.T. sessions.
